Using Scenario Planning to Prepare for Multiple Futures, An Interview with Woody Wade

Woody Wade, author of Scenario Planning: A Field Guide to the Future, joins us to talk how scenario planning can help us prepare for multiple futures at the same time.

Woody Wade is a specialist in scenario planning. He helps business leaders identify
and understand the critical uncertainties that have the greatest potential to change
their future business landscape – and thus affect their future competitiveness and
success. His work has taken him to over 30 countries.

Woody is the author of Scenario Planning: A Field Guide to the Future, considered a
reference on this management approach. Published in 2012 by Wiley, the largest
business publisher in the US, the book became a bestseller in Japan, where it was
voted the 14th best business book of 2014 by readers of Harvard Business Review.

Based in Switzerland, Woody previously was the Marketing Director of the famous
Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, the world’s number one-ranked school of hospitality
management. Prior to that, he was an Executive Board member of the World
Economic Forum, the foundation organizing the annual meeting of world leaders in
Davos, and also worked in private banking in Zurich.

He is a graduate of Indiana University (Bachelor’s in German and history) and
Harvard Business School (MBA).
